Sino-Czech industries look forward to the Beijing Winter Olympic Games

  In order to better publicize and promote the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, the "Online Symposium of the Czech Overseas Chinese Community for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games", organized by the Prague Times and co-sponsored by major overseas Chinese groups in the Czech Republic, was recently held in the Czech capital, Prague.

 The guests first watched a promotional video for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Czech Olympic team's participation in the PyeongChang and Tokyo Olympic Games.

  Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Zhang Jianmin, introduced the construction of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games venues and measures for the prevention and control of the pandemic, etc. He said that both the Chinese and Czech delegations had achieved outstanding results at the recent Tokyo Olympics and hoped that the athletes from both countries would continue to strive for further success at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

  Zhang Jianmin said that the Czech Republic was strong in ice hockey and other winter sports, and that there had been good exchanges and cooperation between China and the Czech Republic in the field of sports, and that the Beijing Winter Olympics would certainly further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in sports, especially winter sports.

  Zhang Jianmin stated that the Chinese Embassy in the Czech Republic had been in close contact with the Czech Olympic Committee and would provide all the facilities and services, including visas, for the Czech delegation to compete in China.

  Czech Olympic Committee Project Coordinator, M. Werner, said that in order to facilitate communication between athletes and Olympic officials of the two countries, they were building a bi-lingual platform to facilitate the transfer of information and share the Olympic spirit.

  The president of the Czech-Slovak-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Roman Spacil, said he came from an athletics background and particularly understood the appeal of participating in the Winter Olympics for athletes.

  Spacil said, "I went to Beijing in April 2019 to attend the 'Belt and Road' International Cooperation Summit Forum and had the opportunity to visit the Olympic venues under construction and was very impressed, and I look forward to the opportunity to go back to Beijing to watch the Olympic games."

  Czech ice hockey coach Mai Bonchak said that having coached hockey clubs in China for the past two years, Beijing had become his new home and he looked forward to continuing to help develop the country's winter sports programme.

  Former figure skating world champion and general manager of the Czech Ice Musical Theatre Company, Radka Kovariková, said it was every athlete's dream to participate in the Olympics and believed Beijing would be able to overcome the difficulties and successfully host the Winter Olympics. She wished both the Chinese and Czech athletes excellent results and hoped that more spectators would participate in the Olympics and enjoy the Olympic moments together.
